On the way back to home i met my family friend's wife who shared her experience with "Rajan Hospital" in T.Nagar,Chennai.Few days back one of her neighbour's kid suffered a seizure and the kid had no movement, so they took the kid to the near by hospital (Rajan) where they admitted the kid.The kid was admitted by 8.30 (not sure of AM or PM) and till 11.30 no treatment was given to the kid, when asked they just gave the answer "Required Treatment is being given!!!!". As the time progressed and with no improvement in the kid's condition the kid's parents decided to discharge from the hospital and move on to some BETTER hospital, when they contacted the Hospital admin for the discharge slip, they were asked to pay Rs.2000 for Room& Admin charge, only after they paid the amount they were given the discharge slip, after which they went to a hospital in Numgambakkam and got the kid treated.
The hospital people might be seeing several patients/cases in their day-to-day life and they cant treat each case a special one but atleast they can answer properly to their customers(?) and realise that they have influence other's lives,families...
Though scenes like this are common in many hospitals, there seems to be no improvement in their behaviour despite several patients losing their lives.
After listening to this incident a question that took my sleep away was
"Why does Paper (called as money in this materialistic world) weigh more than the human life?Dont the human lives need atleast a little more respect than money?"
